The Des Plaines Flood Action Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is is to pro-actively provide mutual help and support to the Des Plaines area residents impacted by flooding and to synergistically generate solutions to flood related issues. Welcome to the Des Plaines Flood Action Groups revised Interm website.

The goal of the site it to keep Des Plaines residents as informed as possible in flood related matters, give you a voice, share our suggestions to the various agencies on flood control and to keep a watch and report on current and future flood related projects. To do this we will continue working with local, county, state and federal government members and agencies. The above Tabs and Icons take you to various pages on this site.

The FEMA managed National Flood Insurance Program again made the news when congress failed to pass the funding bill on June 18th continueing the NFIP lapse. See the FEMA memorandum - Bulletin W10063 for how they are handling continued insurance lapse and how it can affect you.

The NFIP´s authorization has expired March 28, 2010 at midnight. Congress did not act to extend the NFIP´s authorization before the deadline, so the Program will not be allowed to operate
